Fitment Guide
How Your Helmet Should Fit
Why Proper Fitment Matters
The performance and safety of your helmet depend on a correct fit. A helmet that fits properly will maximize safety, provide greater comfort, reduce wind noise, stay securely in place, and help safety certifications function as intended.
Checking The Fit
- The inner lining should feel snug around the top and sides of your head.
- The top pad should press gently on the crown of your head.
- Cheek pads should firmly contact your cheeks.
- You should not be able to easily slip two fingers between your temple and the helmet.
Movement Test
- Buckle the chin strap.
- Hold the helmet firmly on each side and attempt to move it side-to-side and up-and-down.
- The helmet should move your skin, not slide freely.
- If it shifts independently, it is too large.
Signs It May Be Too Big
- Helmet slides on with little resistance.
- Feels loose at the crown.
- Eyes sit too high in the eyeport.
- Helmet moves freely without pulling the skin.
Signs It May Be Too Small
- Extremely difficult to put on.
- Immediate pressure points or hot spots.
- Eyes sit too low in the eyeport.
- Sharp pain or discomfort that does not feel like normal snug pressure.
Correct Fit
- Requires some effort to slide on.
- Snug fit around the crown without pain.
- Eyes are centered in the eyeport.
- The helmet feels secure and does not move freely.
Sizing Disclaimer
Recommended sizing may vary by helmet model. Do not base your Daytona Helmet size solely off another brand, another helmet style, or a different Daytona model, as fitment can vary by shell shape, padding, and design. If you currently own a Daytona Helmet purchased within recent years and are happy with the fit and break-in feel, we recommend staying with the same size when purchasing a similar Daytona model.
